They played a combination of the 2, and neither was very effective in the long run. It was just one of those games... (02-16-2010 12:35 AM)SF Husky Wrote: I wouldn't worry about games against WVU and UL, but games against teams like RU, USF and ND are the issues right now.
Don't go overboard, dude. I'm sure Pitino and Huggs will love it if everyone at UConn feels the same way. Overconfidence, or underestimating your opponent is a sure fire way to get an @ss whippin'...

There is nothing to be overconfident with this group. Seriously, UCONN has the talent to beat anyone on any given night even if the opponent bring their A game. Nova did not play bad last night, UCONN just played better. This group should have beat GTOWN, CUSE, Kentucky, Michigan etc. Then again, they always found a way to lose in closing moments.
This group has the habit of playing badly against lesser teams (Ex. Providence, Cincy, Michigan etc.). It is amazing to me with 2 NBA talented guards in Walker and Dyson they make such poor decisions at key parts of the game. Walker played great last night. He did not force things like he usually do. He played under control and took the shots D gave him vs. taking to the hole each time and get clobbered across the face. Both he and Dyson need to learn that they don't have to take it to the hole each time and get hammered in the lane.
Either way, it will be a roller coaster ride for the reminder of the season. Calhoun's team usually get better by Feb. He was out and they are slightly behind schedule but there is still hope for this group.

Do you honestly think UCONN is not one of the top 64 teams in the country?
Who said the top 64 make the tournament? You need to be in the top 34 excluding auto bids, and 5-8 won't qualify. Lots of wins in upcoming games are needed to make that list.
Well then, I guess we just gonna have to embarass you guys when you visit Storrs. We need that win and a payback.
Well Huskie we both need that win and I expect a very good and close game.
But like he said, you need to be one of the 34 best @ Large teams not one of the best 65 and right now neither Louisville or UConn can feel comfortable about our situation.
No easy game left on UCONN's schedule. Playing #1 strength of schedule pretty much got these guys tested good or bad. They better bring it against you guys. That effort against Cincy was the worst I have seen with a Calhoun coached team in all the years I been a fan.
