MVC teams in post-season tournaments
This is not one of those "if the season ended today" prognostications.

What MVC teams do you think will end up playing past the conference tournament, and which tournament will each team be in. Offer two scenarios: 1. UNI wins in St. Louis, and 2. UNI loses in St. Louis.

1. UNI wins in STL

NCAA - UNI
NIT - WSU, ILSU
CBI - BU, MSU
CIT - CU

2. UNI loses in STL

Same as above, with WSU moving into the NCAA from NIT. (Yep, a homer pick.)

If MSU can finish strong, including a win at ILSU, I could see their RPI begin good enough that the NIT picks them over ILSU.

I don't want CU to get invited to any post season play.

You don't think that this season's newcomers wouldn't benefit from some non-conference post-season competition?

Now that the NIT is a long shot, I hope we can pull a home game at the CBI

I suppose they would Royal Shock, but this team has been really difficult to watch. I think there is still talent there but they just are not a good "team".

I can understand that from a fan's point-of-view. But you have to look at this season as building for next season. At least, that's how I would look at it. But that's easy for me to say.

RE: MVC teams in post-season tournaments
I'm sure it's too much to hope, but I read today that Indiana State has been in contact with officials from the NIT, CBI, and CIT. Those tournaments contacted us gauging our interest in playing or hosting games in their tournaments.

Do you know how long it's been since we've been in that position? This is kinda fun. I hope we can finish strong, win a game or two in St. Louis, and make a postseason tourney. That would be a HUGE step forward for our program.
