I think so. He may have some competition from Martin at K State or the Northern Iowa coach, but he should probably have it wrapped up.

Could be...but lots of sportswriter are talking Calipari too. Boeheim should get it when he is winning with mostly 1, 2 and 3 star talent.

he'd get my vote for sure, zero coach of the year awards what the heck does boeheim have to do to win one.

Calipari has been Naismith Coach of the Year twice already - 1996 and 2008. Barring a complete collapse by SU, if JB doesn't win it this year there should be an investigation.

Each time Calipari has been named COY, he's had to vacate the NCAA title he won with players who shouldn't have been playing in college after taking money from agents, etc. I wouldn't vote Calipari for this award - period. Calipari demeans the award by his presence on the list of winners...

I think Boeheim should win it this year. I can't think of anyone who has done more with his team, and the season Syracuse is having is totally unexpected too. They weren't voted that highly in the preseason. If he doesn't win it this time, I doubt he ever will. This is the best coaching he's done in an outstanding career...
