I would say if they get to 19 wins they are in. 19 could come from remaining schedule or the BET.

Not this year, even though the game is in Hartford. Even when the Mountaineers play badly, we're tough to beat. WVU has lost their 4 conference games by a total of 13 points...

It is amusing, isn't it... :-)

We shall see. When UCONN is playing to its talent, it can beat any team in the country regardless if they bring their best or not. The issue is will those guys get focused or take plays off like they have done all year. They have lost to bunch of lesser teams they got no business losing to.

It is only amusing cause all the homers from other teams like to come and bash UCONN because we are having a horrible season. Yes these guys have severally underachieved but they are still capable of making a run and some major noise in the NCAA.

The problem is that they havent played that way every game. And they probably wont the rest of the way.

could be, but howie has had more success over at central conn, who plays quinnipiac in the northeast conf.

if i was a gambling man i would say howie dickenman, he has more head coaching experience and took central conn to the ncaa's 3 times...,
I don't see UConn settling for anything but a "name" coach. Don't think they'll get Wright, but they could someone like him.

Cheers,
Neil
Well, I still think Tom Moore might be the man they need. If you'll remember from the article...

It sounds to me like he was a key cog in UConn's success. Why would you not want somebody who brought a lot of talent into Storrs?

He just got his first job. He needs experience. I think if UCONN does pick someone from the Calhoun tree, Tom Moore won't be a bad hire. He is still in CT and close to the program.

I think a young coach from the State of Connecticut would be more likely to stick around too - for a very long time...

Prior to returning to CCSU, Dickenman joined the University of Connecticut staff in 1982. During his tenure, Husky basketball became one of the nation’s elite programs. He spent 10 years as the top assistant to coach Jim Calhoun, during which the Huskies recorded a 20-8 post-season record. He was responsible for the recruitment of several future NBA players during his tenure, including Donyell Marshall, Donnie Marshall, Kevin Ollie, Travis Knight, Jake Voskuhl, Scott Burrell, Chris Smith and Cliff Robinson. While with the Huskies, UConn advanced to postseason play for nine-consecutive seasons, including five trips to the Sweet 16 in seven years. The 1987-88 UConn squad brought home the National Invitational Tournament (NIT) title.

Since the early 90s every Uconn freshman class that missed the NCAA tourney made the final 4 if they stayed for 4 years.

Every Uconn freshman class that played in the NIT have won a National Championship if they stayed for 4 years.

Gloat now my friends but most Uconn fans have seen this before and know about the glorious light at the end of the tunnel.

I wanted to bump this last week after the win against Arizona but thought it would be major Karma/Mojo violation since the second part didn't happen yet then.

But since it all happened. The streak continues.
