41 by Mike Rivers vs. Centenary in 1983.
39 by Carl Brown vs. Texas-San Antonio in 1990
38 by Brandon Freeman against FIU in 2004
38 by Rod Wade vs Hardin Simmons 1990
37 by Brandon Freeman vs. SAU in 2004
37 by Tony Martin vs. Western Kentucky in 1993
and 37 by Pete Myers vs. Georgia State in 1986

There were others who came close like Derek Fisher with 36 against South Alabama in 1995. Who said he wasn't a shooter? Does anyone notice a pattern here? Nearly all were before Porter and Steve were here. Brandon Freeman is the lone exception, and I'm not certain if Porter or Steve was the coach at that time. Anyway, it's been a long time since I've seen anyone on our men's team able to score a lot of points. But it's hard to do when you're only getting 8-12 shots a game.
Chas had 33 last night, and I remember other games where she had 22 or more. Shooters have to shoot. I never saw a pass go in the basket.


One more thing. I've always said assists were not a good stat for measuring anything, because it depended on the person to whom you passed make a shot. Kim got 10 assists last night, but it's because she was passing to Chas who was shooting and hitting. Shooting, rebounds and steals are the only stats I pay much attention to, since they depend on the individual's performance. It's like crediting a caddy with some sort of good stat because he handed the golf ball to Tiger Woods who made the putt. It's sort of like that silly thing Jeff has taken from the hockey games. I don't really know what it all means. If you happen to be on the floor when the other players on your team get hot, you get credit for a plus if I understand it correctly. But hey, it's one more thing to talk about when things are going poorly.

She's probably the only caddie to ever be paid around 80 million dollars for swinging a club.
