Shy Event Staff?
Last night I sat in Section 109 row C with two of my friends and we were standing and yelling having a good time only to have an event staff manager tell us to sit down. She said it was in the "Rule Book" that we couldn't stand up at certain times. We sat down for about a minute than got right back to it. Can anybody verify this rule? And I want to say thanks to who the guy behind us on row D was. He helped us out during the situation.

There is no such rule book. They are full of crap. I stood up for a good chunk of the second half and no one said anything to me.

You were probably blocking their view and they needed some crap so they could see the game.

RE: Event Staff?
I will say this, this year's event staff seem nicer than in previous years.

I also noticed in the Texas/UConn game that their court is surrounded by more event staff than Bartow. That made me feel a little better about our situation.

I would make them throw me out before I would sit down. I dare one to attempt it.

I believe that MDV was told to sit down, as well. Except he was standing up when the few rows in front of him were. 03-lmfao

You're welcome. When she told us that only the student section was allowed to stand up during the game, it infuriated me.

DO NOT SIT DOWN!

Make them drag you out kicking and screaming.

I absolutely dare one of those wrinkled up full of sawdust bastages to even attempt to tell me to sit.

I spoke with someone (higher up) in the athletic department. This is what I was told:

Quote:There is no such rule. You should not have been bothered and it is being dealt with before the UTEP game, to make sure it doesn't happen again.

I suggest , if any one has problems with anything like this from the event staff ask to see an athletic department official. If that fails, get the offending staff members name or take a picture of them as proof of the incident; so the individual can be dealt with. And most of all report it.

Interesting, I work with one of the event staff personnel and she just told me that isn't a rule at all. Standing at your seat is totally fine. Standing in the aisles and walkways are not allowed.

RE: Event Staff?
this year, the event staff has been nothing but cordial/friendly to me.
but, then again, I greet them as I enter the arena, and when heading to my seats.

I appreciate the help guys! I'll be there in the same spot just on row B this time. I'll see if I get any grief this time around.

The next time one of them tells you to sit down, get their name. Then, go see Brian Mackin.
