RE: Eli's Awsome Dunk
Here’s what I think happened with the Drake dunk. I saw a replay on the news. It happened really fast so it was hard to tell. I think the dunk actually got blocked by Jordan, but Drake grabbed the rim like ball was still in his hand. Then the ball happened to fall in despite the block while drake had the rim pulled down. So technically, wouldn’t that be offensive basket interference?

Yes. That is how I saw it.

RE: Eli's Awsome Dunk
the refs would've had to call a foul on Jordan, so they let it count.

That's exactly how I saw it too. It still looked good going in the basket because it looked like a dunk over Jordan. I actually turned to my brother and told him that it could have been offensive basket interference. Glad it counted the way it did because it kept our crowd fired up.

RE: Eli's Awsome Dunk
I leaned over to my daughter after the Millsap dunk and told her she'd never see -- in person -- a better dunk in an important moment than what we just saw. Down two...a thunderous, ridiculously athletic throwdown with an and-one for good measure. It fired up everybody wearing green and shook off the cobwebs growing after the first two-thirds of the second half. It was easily the most important play of the game.

And I didn't think the Drake dunk was basket interference. Jordan made a good play on the ball, deflected it, but Drake was going so hard he still had enough to get it past him. If it was basket interference at all, it was on Drake. But I didn't think it was. It all happened so fast, it was hard to tell what happened first...the ball getting into the cylinder or the hand hitting the rim. You just can't call that in that moment.

I haven't seen a replay but I was mid court (221). I thought Tulsa committed a goal tend/interference (Tulsa hand, not UAB hand) and since the ball went in anyway, they didn't motion for a call.

I was in section 118, back row, the rim was just below eye level. Drake grabbed the rim to keep from teabagging Jordan.

RE: Eli's Awsome Dunk
the rim definitely came down before the ball went in. either way I'm glad it counted.
