WVU again played inconsistantly in the game. After jumping out to a 20-4 lead early in the game, the Mountaineers allowed DePaul to come back to within 4 points. But by halftime, WVU had pushed the margin to 9 again. An early start in the 2nd half, coupled with some tough defense, basically put the game away. DePaul only scored 18 points in the 2nd half...
