Quote:If these hyper-aggressive invasive species enter the Great Lakes, thousands of jobs, the lakes’ unique ecology and our way of life here in Michigan and other Great Lakes states will all be at risk.

This invasion into our Great Lakes should be a real concern to everyone.

It's a certainty they'll get into the great lakes sooner or later. When they do they'll trash the game fish in the lakes and destroy sport fishing.

We can delay that day by starting an aggressive program to control their numbers in the rivers and canals where they currently reside. Take some of the money Obama is giving away to his pet projects and use it to control the asian carp population!

A company in Louisiana said they have the facilities and the market to take as many carp as they can catch and turn them into fertilizer. The said they can fish them into extinction. So far the bureaucrats have turned a deaf ear to them.

That's a great idea, trim back the herd and use them for fertilizer. As usual Washington will sit on their ass until sport fishing in the Great Lakes is destroyed. We give money away to every nick-nack nation in the world, but here we have a major problem in the USA and Washington has vapor lock on interest. Worthless jerks.

Where's ole Obama? Making heap big noise about carbon emissions in 2050 and here we are seeing our ecology getting destroyed in 2010.

Strange that a Louisiana company wants the expense of getting fish from Illinois when Louisiana waters are being taken over by these fish. In fact the latest idea from Louisiana Dept of Wildlife and Fisheries is to even change the name so Americans accept the fish and buy them to eat. Silverfin will soon be in your grocery meat case.

He's leaving it up to Illinois with it's clear headed and no blood on it's hands Demcoratic political machine (with no interests involved) call the shots.

Senator Dick Turbin was recently quoted as saying that he and others are commited environmentalists and want to protect the Great Lakes but until there is more scientific evidence Illinois cant and wont cut off the Autobahn (the Calument-Saginaw channel).

"Please ignore that DNA evidence of the fishes existence that is sitting behind the green curtain operating all those levers and buttons."
