Top Ten MAC Players of Previous Decade
For basketball. Why didn't I say that in the title? Because the other one wasn't labeled either.
Off the top of my head, more or less, I'm thinking:
Trevor Huffman
Andrew Mitchell
Haminn Quaintance
Brandon Hunter
Leon Williams
Jeremiah Wood
Turner Battle
Tim Pollitz
Keith Triplett
Torn between Chris Kaman (excellent for one year) and Giordan Watson for the last spot.

Huffman is an easy #1, as far as your Kaman/Watson problem, I'd lean towards Kaman as he was solid as a freshman (12, 8, & 2) and absolutely dominated as a sophomore with 23, 12, & 3. Also add in the fact that he left early for the league (How many other MAC players did that?) and I'd say he belongs on the list.

Stempin over Triplett from a UT standpoint, although Stempin's senior year was not his best and it was the only one that took place in the 2000s.

Completely forgot about McLeod. Gates just missed the cut.

Demetric Shaw for KSU would be one player I'd not leave off. Also there were some nice players at WMU in the middle of the decade.

Also, I'd say Kamen was the single best post man in the decade.
So I'll go with, in no particular order:
Trevor Huffman
Andrew Mitchell
Haminn Quaintance
Keith McLeod
Antonio Gates
Brandon Hunter
Jeremiah Wood
Turner Battle
Tim Pollitz
Chris Kaman
Williams and Pollitz was my tough call. I could go either way there. I do feel like I'm missing someone, though...
Kaman was probably the leagues best player of the decade. I think he was the only one drafted in the 1st round plus CMU won a tourney game. Anyone not placing at the top of the list didn't see his final season.

So, a MAC POY, Mike Williams of WMU doesn't even merit consideration?
I love these lists - they generate a lot of debate about players we've seen and from our schools.

Best of all they remind me of guys I forgot all about and then I go check them out to see what they're up to. Lots of guys with decent pro careers overseas or in South America.

Reminds me of a quote about the U.S. losing so many baketball players to Europe. It cited that the "average" ( a dangerous word) NBA player makes $4.1 US while the "average" European player makes $1.4 US.
Nice living for some of these MAC players if they can get it. I hope they can.
