Not good for SU's game against Marquette this weekend. They will have something to proove against the Orange.

Losing to DePaul is very disappointing for anyone in the conference. I bet it really p!ssed 'em off too...

clearly a case of looking beyond a team. Up next for Marq is Syr and I bet they figured DePaul was an easy. Now they hve to refocus and come out against SYR. Thank you DePaul. I think this messes up Marq's confidence and boosts SYR's confidence against Marq. You can't respect the team that lost to DePaul and you certainly don't want to lose to the team at lost to Depaul.

On the other hand SYR is coming off a three game road trip resulting in three wins and we're back home for marq. You know the crowd is going to be glad to have SYR back at the Dome, the team is going to be happy to be back home and they should play well against Marq but then you have Gtown- Gtown is a great team that has good days and bad days. On a good day they will destroy anybody. Hopefully we get them on a bad day but we can't look past Marq.

The real question for SYR is how can we make BB success help us out in FB recruiting. Unlike Duke or UNC- clearly BB only schools- Syr has had success in FB and our increased profile during BB season may not help but it has to be better than having no profile at all.

UNC is far from a BB only school. Some of the best FB facilities around. Had quite a bit of success in the 90s at the same time SU had theirs (the Mack Brown years).

As for Cuse vs. Marquette, if you don't respect any school in the Big East, regardless of who they beat/lost their last time out, they will bite you.

I've heard they are fixing it but the last time I saw a fb game at UNC it was literally crumbling--news had warning stories about concrete chunks falling off and injuring people and to be careful. It's fairly old.

UNC hired Butch Davis to be their head coach, so it's safe to say that they're committed to football.

They'd better be committed to football. Their basketball team lost again last night...

Pains me to say it but isn't USC known as Tailback U? Five Heisman winners at tailback (Mike Garrett, OJ Simpson, Charles White, Marcus Allen, Reggie Bush).

They are all trivial nicknames, probably all started grassroots style before huge national media coverage. But in the kingdom of fandom we call our Heels The Running Back University. That's what I tell the overwhelming amount of Buckeye fans, anyway.

*Now if only Wille Parker can forgive the Bunting Situation he was thrown into and acknowledge his Tar Heel status.

Parker was 2nd/3rd string at UNC right? Never started to my knowledge, yet he's probably been more successful at the pro level than many of the other UNC 1,000 yard backs.
