MiQuale Lewis Gets Extra Season
It isn't official yet, but it look like MiQuale Lewis will get his waiver approved to play in 2010. This is huge for Ball State because he is far and away the best running back that they have.

RE: MiQuale Lewis Gets Extra Season
How does he get another year? He's played between 4-14 games the past 4 seasons. I thought the cutoff point for a medical hardship was 20% or less of the contests, so after 2 games in a 12 game season you've used that seasons eligibility.

2006 - 6 games
2007 - 4
2008 - 14
2009 - 12

IF your numbers are right he should NOT be given another year. NO WAY.

They played 13 games in 2007 -- International Bowl was game 13. According to the hardship rule, if 20% of a team's games ends up as a decimal, you round up. In this case, 20% of 13 games is 2.6, so you round up to 3. That means anyone who played in 3 or fewer games is eligible.

In Lewis' case, it's believed that he petitioned because he missed half of his first year because of injury and then all but 3 1/2 games in his second year, so he didn't play in more than half of the games during his first 2 years, so petitioned for the extra year.

Give him six games in 2010.
