C'mon guys, it's a list of only 10 players for a whole decade for what, about 60+ teams?

What records did these guys set to warrant such praise? And how do their numbers stack up against the guys mentioned?

Pretty hard to argue those choices. Pretty hard to argue for more MAC players as well.

I guess leading the country in receptions and being All pro and acknowledged as a Top 5 wr in the NFL is not good enough. Maybe someone should take a peak at the Wild Card playoff game between GB and Arizona. 85 on GB not a Top Ten 03-lmfao Talk about a NO BRAINER

RE: Top Ten Football Players of the Decade
What does the NFL have to do with this list? It seems like every time there is a list about the best COLLEGE player somehow everyone wants to incorporate professional careers into the grading process. IT'S IRRELEVANT PEOPLE! Vince Carter was not one of the greatest college players of all time, but he's been one hell of a pro. Harrison wasn't nearly as good at Kent State but he's now one of the best players in the NFL, but I don't think he was even one of the top ten players in the MAC the last decade let alone all of the non-AQs. So really the only argument you have with Jennings is he lead the country in receptions per game for one year. Good, but not necessarily top 10 considering there were about 1000 players to choose from.

Chris Johnson is a pretty glaring omission.

Yeah he sucked as a college player 03-lmfao

Greg Jennings attended Western Michigan University. In 2005, he had 98 catches, and led the nation in catches per game, with 8.91. He had 1,259 yards with 14 touchdowns. His 5,093 all-purpose yards is a WMU record, and ranks 8th in MAC history. Jennings became only the 11th player to gain over 1,000 yards three times in college career

The pro assertion was a confirmation that he was the real deal.

RE: Top Ten Football Players of the Decade
I think Jennings could be considered and I think he's close, but who would you bump out of this top 10 to put him in? Also is he better than Chris Johnson who also was left off the list? Greg Jennings was a great player and I'd put him in the top 10 of the MAC, but of all non-AQ teams in the country? I'd say no...

Jennings numbers came w/a pass catching TE (Scheffler @ Denver Broncos) and a rb who had a 1000 yards . Not to mention a true freshman QB. I'd put his numbers up w/any of the wrs noted on the list and out them.

The true test is whether you would put him there if you were a fan of Oregon or Alabama or Sam Austin instead of WMU. We'll never know but we each think THAT guy from our school was deserving.
