Red shirt criteria. What is it?
I believe we have covered this in seasons past but I paid little attention. Will likely ask the same question next season but am interested now as it might apply to Shayne Whittington.

In my ignorance I think it has to do with games played but I dont know if there is a deadline for codifying that as a decision.

Seeing Shayne has played in so few games (and he may have exceeded the limit many moons ago) I was wondering.

Earlier I postulated that Hawk likely was not in a position to RS Shayne in that if DL went down with his ticker again at least a body was needed. That could or anything else could happen that would take DL away from the lineup but I still have the question.

Thoughts?

My understanding is that your redshirt is blown if you play a single minute of a single game....unless you get injured before playing too many games and can qualify for a medical redshirt. Exactly how many games you are allowed to play for a medical redshirt I am not sure.

To qualify for a medical redshirt you have to play in less than 20% of the games and have a season-ending injury.

After eating an entire bull, a mountain lion felt so good he started roaring. He kept it up until a hunter came along and shot him.
The moral: When you're full of bull, keep your mouth shut.
