Tough loss for UCONN however take solice that MICH fans stormed the court which signifies the respect people have for your program.
Rough year for UCONN and UNC. GOod thing for everybody else but both programs will be back with a vengence real soon.

RE: UCONN/MICH game thread
Beilein needed this win. Michigan hasn't played well in Big Tin play so far. If they don't improve in conference, they could miss the NCAA tourney without a win like this...

When it's all said and done, I don't think this game will matter either way for Michigan. I don't see them doing much damage in conference and I see the potential for UConn to be this year's version of last years Hoyas - dropping like a ton of bricks into the 40s or 50s in terms of RPI.
Something's missing and I don't know if they will be able to turn it around.
Cheers,
Neil

Do you really think Michigan is going to join the BE?

LOL! Michigan is leaving the Big Tin????
Big East is far more proactive than I thought.

Well, they would be joining a much much better bb conference.
But man, its going to be a long year for Uconn. They havent been this bad since Omeka Okafors freshman season, when they failed to make the ncaa tourney. Next year though, they could really be a force if their guards return. And its really not too late this season.

Wow!! That loss just dropped UConn 10 spots in the RPI, down to #24 at RealTimeRPI.
They'll need to beat Texas next Saturday to right the ship.
Cheers,
Neil

I suppose I walked into that one, however, I still feel that UConn is a better option that Syracuse or Rutgers if the Big Ten can't get Texas.

True, but since we are a basketball league first, our leaders probably would prefer Michigan State.

I'm sure Big Ten presidents are taking down notes of your message board posts before coming to a decision.

same old, same old. still can't make free throws (that airball by stanley robinson with the game still in doubt summed up uconn's performance this year), absolutely no outside shooting or 3pt threat, and despite usually being the most talented team in the conference they sure don't always seem to play with a lot of poise or discipline.

Uh, isn't there a Big Ten rule that any expansion has to be in a state they are already located in or a state directly next to one they are already in? Last I checked UConn is not in a state directly next to any the Big Ten currently has a program located.

That just might be the thing they need to allow Michigan State football to flourish. The Spartans would finally be out of the shadow of the Wolverines...

maybe one of the directional Michigan schools or Detroit Mercy, they may not have FB but I think they LAX. of course we could go further west for Minnesota, that would color in the great lakes region nicely

That's an Internet urban legend. It's been directly discredited by Big Ten officials numerous times over the past month. Here's one example:

That's why the talk about Big Ten expansion is looking far beyond the Midwest (i.e. Texas).

RE: UCONN/MICH game thread
Horrible loss for UCONN. We got some major issues this year. Losing top 3 players from last year's team combining with #1 strength of schedule so far in the country is not a good receipe for success. The team seems wore down a little. Losing AJ Price is huge for UCONN. Not only we lost a true floor leader and also our #1 threat from 3 point shot. It could be a long year for UCONN if they don't turn it around soon. As if our schedule needs to get any harder, #1 Texas is on board next Sat.
So far Kemba Walker has played like crap. UCONN needs to fix the PG position before it will get better.
I don't know who did the schedule, but this year's UCONN schedule is the hardest I can remember in a long long time.
Maybe I will go cheer for UCONN ladies team this year LOL. They beat up top 10 teams like they are mid-majors. #7 Duke is up on Monday.
