Kansas drops to three- how?
Not complaining really because who cares but I think they should have dropped lower and Villanova should have been three with SYR four.

Here's why. Kansas has played only two currently ranked teams Temple and Tenn. they beat Temple and Tenn beat them so like what's so impressive on their resume that when they leave the group of undefeateds they just drop to three instead of falling behind other one loss teams?

I'm sure the Kansas/Texas game is supposed to big as big a seller as the Duke/UNC game. Together Duke and UNC share six losses but neither is out of the top 12 in the coach's poll.

I'm surprised UNC didn't get a bump up in the rankings after their loss.

KU beat Temple while Villanova lost to them. Syracuse's loss to unranked Pitt looks worse than KU's loss to ranked Tennessee at present.

Agreed.

I'm happy with Syracuse at 5 - I thought they might only move up to #6. Thought Purdue losing to Wisconsin away while Syracuse losing to Pitt at home, might keep the Boilermakers ahead in the rankings.

Cheers,
Neil

Even I have to agree.

I disagree with both of you. Tennessee only has 6 scholarship players and 4 walk-ons right now, due to the drug related arrest of 4 Vols on New Year's Day, including all-SEC forward Tyler Smith. Temple was on a roll when Villanova played 'em...

Kansas loss in Knoxville, with the 4 suspended players and the Vols 2 best players in foul trouble the entire second half, looks worse than 'nova's loss to me...

Bit, What ARE you thinking?!? 03-melodramatic

Must have had another brainfart because I know you know that most of the media people (AP) and Coaches are unaware of these things when they vote. The majority just saw the little number 16 in front of Tennessee's name and the then 20 something number in front of Temple's.

Cheers,
Neil

Well, Kansas beat Temple by over 30 points on the road...the same Temple team that beat Villanova.

Pitt is ranked #16 so Cuse lost to a ranked team.

Without Tyler Smith, and 3 key reserves, Tennessee won't remain ranked for long. Depth is going to be a big issue. They got lucky against Kansas...

I know the Vols pretty well. Living in Knoxville you can't avoid it...
