A Huntsville area car dealership is offering a chance at a free new car. You must first buy any new car off their lot by the close of business tomorrow and IF Alabama shuts out Texas then you get the car free of charge - no payments to make. The funny thing is some of these Bama fans drink some strong red kool-aid and may buy without the need just thinking it's a sucker bet.
I'm in the market for a new car and ..I need a new car anyway...I get what I need with a chance for it being free. Reminded me of the Ashley furniture promo in Memphis.

Part of the reason I wanted Texas to win was because of my dislike of every Bama fan I know. The thought of Bama fans buying cars for no reason other than their arrogant assumption that they will win and get a free car makes me want Texas to win even more now. Hook 'em Horns!!!!

I don't like Alabama and have never met a Bama fan that I liked. Therefore, I hope a whole lot of Bama fans go out and buy a car for no reason but the arrogant assumption that Bama wins and they get the car free. I hope that Texas then beats the hell out of them. Hook 'em Horns!!!!!!

I can't tell you how many times I have thought this same sentiment since moving to Birmingham this past May...


On a lighter note, they are building a Publix here in Leeds, so I no longer have to go to the Wal-Mart to get my grocery shopping done (thus I don't have to put up with the Bama fans much longer!).

Well I'm a bama fan but I'm not obnoxious am I? :( haha

not so sure of that.. i think Texas may surprise some folks. I agree its easy to say Bama in this matchup but I think Texas has the run D to make things hard on Bama. Texas may also have the better offense. I doubt I watch it so I will just have to read about it...

Several recent trends would make you look at Texas in this game.

The last time a running back (Reggie Bush) won the Heisman over a Texas QB (Vince Young) Horns win NC.

Last time Texas played in the BCS title game in the Rose Bowl ( 2006 Texas v USC) Horns wins NC.

Last time Texas beat a Big Ten team in a BCS Bowl the year before playing in the BCS title game (2005 Michigan/Rose Bowl, 2009 Ohio State/ Fiesta Bowl) Horns wins NC.

Just sayin, but I'm sure it won't be a shut out.

If Texas can control Bama's ground game Bama will have big problems... Now thats not an easy thing to do.

Texas would have lost 2-3 games in the SEC. I'm 29 and Bama's D is the best I've ever seen. I'll be very surprised if TX can keep it under double digits.

bama will probably win, but texas will score....i would like to know how much revenue this "deal" brings in

best you have ever seen? I would say Nebraska's D is as good this yr alone... I think the problem for Texas is can they run any on Bama's D. If so then they will be in the game..

I'll go crazy trying to swerve in and out of all the soccer moms in their Lexus SUV's with that stupid houndstooth hat bumper sticker on their back windows talking on their phone to their pilates partner yelling, "ROWL TAHD ROWL" doing 45 down Summit Boulevard.



Everyone in my apartment complex will be shooting off their guns. The day after they won the SEC Championship I couldn't find a parking space anywhere because everyone took up two spaces with their cars, they were ALL so drunk they couldn't park....it's a sad state of affairs here in "God's country".

I think Nebraska has a great D. Suh is incredible. I just think them and Florida are a notch below Bama's D.
