Interesting ideas, including full-season suspensions for any coach or athlete who goes to jail, permanently barring anyone convicted of a violent crime, permanently barring coaches whose programs are convicted of cheating by the NCAA, creating a 24-team football playoff, and requiring all message board posters to use their real names, among other things.

I still say if Leach can get fired and is condemned over what he did then high school coaches back in the day were the devil incarnate.

Yep, that pretty much applies across the board. I'm old enough to remember when teachers could paddle you in class for talking. And I don't mean a gentle tap, either. Now they would be arrested for abuse.

But I think this guy has some good ideas. I think coaches who get their programs sanctioned and seasons vacated should be suspended for a year, at the least.

One of my favorite Tigers of all time. Bedford was a super nice guy who was always laughing and cutting up. I guess looking back at how he was should have told me he would end up hooked into coke the way he did. Daugherty is the only one in the pic that panned out but he retired before he was 30.
I stumbled upon the pic after watching ESPN's 30/30 on Len Bias the other day. Every one of those shows I have seen so far were great.

Brad Daugherty was the antithesis of the other 3 in that pic.

They were urban and he was country. He entered UNC as a 16 year old Freshman and played four years. He liked NASCAR and Country Music, and wore a cowboy hat and cowboy boots. He grew up in Black Mountain NC and wore No. 43 jersey, in honor of Richard Petty.

Mike Leach's attorney took a news station camera crew through the two buildings in question.
One was a big 2 car type garage with plenty of ice, water, and fans.
The other was the Texas Tech media room where opposing coaches spoke to the media after games.
I STILL don't see what he did wrong.
The kid shows up at practice with sunglasses...and since sensitivity to bright light is a side effect of a concussion....Leach asked that the kid be placed in a darkened room so the light wouldn't hurt his eyes.
He was checked on regularly by trainers.
Expect a nice out of court settlement for Mike Leach.
