NTR-Black Monday has begun
Per Adam Schefter of ESPN, the Washingfton Redskins have fired Head football coach Jim Zorn today. It also appears likely Oakland Raiders will fire Head football coach Tom Cable. No suprise for the first fring, but I am surprised that only five or six coaches might be fired by the end this week. I feel Jim Zorn never really had a chance to succeed because of the behind the scenes control by the Redskins owner in player personnel. Tom Cable is behind the eight ball because of the failure of JaMarcus Russell as a National Football League quarterback, and the Raiders deficiencies at other positions.

This probably wouldn't ever, ever happen but imagine Mike Leach and the Raiders. He could at least lock Al Davis in an utility closet. That alone would probably be worth a contract extension

There has actually been a lot of discussion about Leach and the Raiders. I doubt it would happen, though. You can't really fire Tom Cable for knocking the crap out of an employee, then replace him with a coach who locks his players in utility closets.

A report on ESPN Sportscenter today states that fhe former Denver Broncos head football coach Mike Shanahan interviewed today with the Washington Redskins with his wife their as well. The Buffalo Bills has fired the rest of the staff today, but the interim head coach will get an interview today also. Bill Cowher also said as of right now, he is not interested in any job opening available at the moment and will not coach in 2010. However, this might change if a job he desires open up in the next week or two.
