Capital One Bowl
Just switched and caught end of the 1st half and , man that field is AWFUL, part of the sod was coming out in patches. Embarassing to have a big bowl and the field look like crap. This is the same field for Champs Bowl and it didnt look bad then.

I was in Orlando for the Champs Bowl and watched Cooper blow out his knee on that awful turf. It's almost criminal.

FYI, I'm sitting in Phoenix on my way to Toronto and am having something of a surreal moment since I'm surrounded by Iowa State fans on their way home from their bowl yesterday. I've seen Ohio State, Oregon and Boise State fans this morning as well...

That field sucks. It it is total mess. By the way LSU just scored. Penn St is only scoring field goals. LSU will pull this one out in the end after staying in striking distance the whole game dispite being out played.

RE: Capital One Bowl
Supposedly the C-Bowl is getting turf next year. Only read about it on a non-sports related board - didn't ever see it in the news. It's not related to the big overhaul that Florida Citrus Sports is pushing for.

I was at the Capital One Bowl too - as much as I complained about the St. Pete Bowl being in a freakin baseball stadium - I bet everyone that was in the Citrus Bowl on Friday would have happily traded venues in a heartbeat.

RE: Capital One Bowl
good to hear that theyre switching to field turf

i wonder if this makes it possible for the champs sports bowl to move to new years day as well

probably not just because capital one will be at 12 or so, then the rose at 430, and sugar at 8... and you definitly dont want to go up against either of those
