I don't like divisions
I wish it were all just one conference, top to bottom. The only reason I can see for (legitimately) dividing into divisions is for savings on travel, since you play your side more than the other.

No coach want to finish 12th or 13th and I can't blame them. Every pro sport has divisions, some with as few as 4 teams. Have to go back to 1968 when the major leagues just had two league without divisions.

I know finishing 5th or 6th in your division looks better then 10th or 12th in a non division league, but when you finish 5th or 6th, and your record is worse than the 5th or 6th in the other division, you've really finished 10th, 11th or 12th.

ACC and the Beast do it. If (when) we get down to less than 12 teams, it makes no sense to have divisions of less than six teams (even though we did that before).

Personally I don't give a crap what coaches wants. Fans and supporters pay for the program. If a coach can't take the heat, they can get out of the kitchen. Divisions are for losers. If you're in a conference, play like a big boy, and accept what you earn. I'd like to take down all those Western Division banners in our arena. They're an affront to any real fan. Only ones I want up there are NCAA and NIT banners.01-lauramac2

I don't particularly like Divisions either, but unless you can play a full round robin home/away schedule I sorta think they're necessary? Once UNO goes at least we'll have balanced divisions.

Probably doesn't matter what I think anyway. They're probably not going to mess with the Division thing. However, if the league keeps having teams drop out, as one article that was presented suggested, we could end up with about eight to ten teams, which wouldn't be too bad, and we could go to a no-division setup. Your team was one of the ones suggested as moving to another conference within the next few seasons. We don't have a lot of choices, since we don't play football.04-cheers

Part of the problem for the SBC is that we are so spread out geographically.

I don't put alot of stock in conference re-alignment articles. They'll happen when they happen IF they happen. I'm fine with the SBC for now. It's been a good league for us, way better than the Southland or the Big West.

We enjoy having you guys in the league. Hope you can stay for the long haul. Of course I'm assuming we will, but in this crazy world, you never know what might occur. We might end up in the SEC someday.
Not in my lifetime, of course.04-cheers
