How will the "Choices" Panel rule on a case like this?
Quote:The Tega Cay teen wasn't supposed to survive after being badly burned when an outdoor fireplace erupted at his home four days before Christmas. But Connor, in his last year at Gold Hill Middle School, hung on.

Not supposed to survive, sounds like the classic give him pain medicine and let nature take its course under the "Choices" panel.

Quote:Then doctors braced the family for a long list of things Connor "would never" do again: He would never walk. Never grow hair. Never play sports.

But Connor, who was comatose for two months, proved the doctors wrong.

Hmmm... comatose in intensive care for two months, sounds expensive given the doctors predicted quality of life and likelihood he would even survive. If only there were a panel with statistical projections that could help with treatment decisions....

Grim prognosis proves no match for can-do teen

Sounds like guesses on your/their part on what would happen.

Yes... but wouldn't it be nice to let the family decide what the best treatment is based on ALL options provided by the doctors?

Of course that is the best. You are claiming that it won't happen based on guesses not reality so it very well could work that way.

Btw, the current system takes that away from you now. They tell you what can be covered and what isn't.

You are a fcking idiot. I took care of a guy in the ICU last year for 4 months who had 2nd and 3rd degree burns all over his body, renal failure, DIC (Where your blood clots and bleeds uncontrollably at the same time) Sepsis, (Huge blood infection) 2 dressing changes a day that required 4 nurses each time, numerous surgical procedures, and the insurance company did not say one word. Except when they flew him 3000 miles to the nearest burn center. The guy survived.
Your buddies would have killed him after 3 days. You are such a fuggin moron it is not funny. Get you head out of Obammyreidpelosis' ass and wake the hell up you friggin moron.

God, you are such a useful idiot!! 04-chairshot 05-mafia

No.....they tell you what the policy you purchased covers and doesn't cover. Want more protection then increase the coverage. What are Obama and Reid saying they'll cover? From what I read they want 4 different tiers of coverage which pretty much covers how much you pay in premiums, deductables and co-pay. If you buy the top tier policy that doesn't automatically mean you're covered for everything, a panel will decide that.

Not sure where you read that but isn't that the same as with insurance companies? They have different tiers and even the top tier doesn't cover everything? You keep trying to say there is a difference yet there really doesn't appear to be a difference. Do you work for the healthcare industry?

Maybe there can be some good come from this. Perhaps Robert will appear before one of these panels and they'll quickly figure out he's too stupid to live.
