RE: The offical Wright State thread
they came in here last year and beat us after a rough start. It was one of a couple of losses that was just enough to leave us at the house in post season. We owe them ( and Mo. St.) some pay back. Mo. St. we have a couple of more times before the contract runs out. Wright State we have just one more game, this one.

Trojan nation could not get fired up to play stAte, then this game may be played without any thought about period.

Cory Cooperwood anyone know the story of how this kid that scores 10 points a game for the Raiders found his way out of the state of Arkansas? I wonder how many of the state schools offered this kid?

According to Juco Junction he was also offered by Lipscomb and Missouri State. Murray State also recruited him. He signed out of a Juco College in Alabama. Don't know if any State schools were aware of him or not.

Just thinking about it, recruiting State kids who go to an out of State Juco should be a natural for us. These kids have gotten "going away from home" out of their systems and may like the idea of coming back closer to mamma's cooking.

The kid is from about an hour up hwy 167. I mean really, we and everyone else had to know about him. No doubt he played a part in this home and home happening ( the other part is some rednecks, the internet and emailing teams that were looking for games...)

I hadn't thought about that at all, but you may be right. Some coaches go out of their way to let their players get a chance to play a game close to home. I know Roy Williams at UNC does. He had a Little Rock kid (Richard Scott?) when he was at Kansas. Mike Hamrick told me Roy was interested in getting the kid a game in Little Rock before he graduated. Apparently the kid didn't care one way or the other so the idea was dropped.

That was Richard Scott. He's a good friend of my brother.

He was a 2 time JUCO All-American when he signed with WSU. He had over 2 dozen scholarship offers including local programs. He chose WSU for 3 reasons. He had a chance to start here from day 1. WSU had an NCAA tournament caliber team. He wants to be a strength and conditioning coach after he graduates and WSU has a state of the art facility and one of the better mid-major strength coaches to mentor under.

RE: The offical Wright State thread
We have a couple of PGs injured. One may get some playing time on Tuesday, if needed.

As for our record, we had a couple of losses in which many of the raider faithfuls felt we should have won (NU, MU-OH). The NU game was lost on a last second half court buzzer beater by them and the MU game, we didn't connect on a last second drive to the hoop.

WSU scheduled this game so Cory could play near his hometown last year. 1/2 his hometown attended that game.

Classy gesture by your coach. He might get 2 wins out of it besides.

Someone help me to remember post these for the games. UALR does a good job with this but I forget to get them off of the site.
