Without our best player Gilchrist.

Score was 69-65 but i think even a UCF fan will tell you that they really were never in it. Im almost positive that UCF never led, and the game was consistently in the 8-12 point lead range up until a few missed free throws and a UCF buzzer beater made it look closer than it was. I never once felt like we had any chance of losing.

Dissapointing crowd for USF/UCF, im sure part of it is because its a between semesters game, but still i was hoping wed get a bit more fans in there. A lot of fun though. I was in the student section (I only have 3 more games i can sit there for, as i just graduated last weekend) and at the end of the game we had a "Just like football" chant going. And a smaller "Lets go rutgers" chant was started. The banter back and forth was fun since their section was relatively close to the student section, i enjoy the basketball series against them.

Dominique Jones led the game with 27

I was interested in watching Marcus Jordan but he wasnt that impressive to me. He scored 11 but he didnt appear to be a very good player. I hope it works out for him though, hard to root against Michael Jordans son. Its going to be hard on him though, after he missed his first shot we started a "Youre no michael" chant.

BTW, UCF fans, do they give your shirts out for free over there? Half of their fans were wearing shirts that had a cocacola zero logo that was bigger than the ucf logo.

I was really hoping that with Gilchrist the way he was playing this season that USF would finally have a good basketball season and head to NIT. Our fanbase needs this badly, right now USF basketball is on life support and we need something to bring excitement back in the program.
Now unfortunately I see more of the same that will just continue to feed the feeling of gloom in our program.

Still it was a nice win by the Bulls

Good win for the Bulls. I believe UCONN got them next. UCONN will also showcase Ater Majok for the 1st time in that game.

you shouldn't have any trouble, we lead the whole game and a garbage 3 and some sloppy play on our part at the end made it closer than it should have been. we were also missing 2 key players including our leading scorer/rebounder/shot blocker in gilchrist.

Well....if you read their board, the moral victories they won tonight are more important than the actual game.

That is an 'amazing' fanbase over in ORlando. They hate us so much, and most USF fans, really just don't care....lol

Congrats USF, you now have a 1 game winning streak over UCF in BB. We are very young, the kids started off strong but reality seems to be settling in. I really didn't expect this team to be much above 500 when the season started. I still don't. This could be a very tough bunch in a couple of years though when they are almost all Jr's n Sr's.

Thanks for the loaded congrats. That is the problem with your fanbase, b/c regardless of the sports you lose to us....and that just about all of them....you guys are just sore losers. USF had 7 scholarship players last night, if we have our full squad including Gilchrist USF would have drilled you by 20. Stop making excuses....

Oh what is the deal with that Florence Nightingale nurse chick on your board? Did the rough language threaten her delicate sensibilities? You know I went to game last night and I heard fans from both sides say stupid things. More so, I saw ADULTS representing UCF saying things that they wouldn't be too proud if their kids or friends heard them say. That's ok...b/c I heard the same from USF fans as well. However I wasn't go to say anything b/c that is common place everywhere you go to watch a live sporting event. Maybe Chrissy should stick to musicals if she is going to act like such a drama queen...or maybe just not attend USF, UM, UF or FSU Games. LOL

Yeah you must be so proud of your alltime basketball record of 5-19 against us. I guess youd have to be since it is so much better than your football record (0-4) against us.

And I guess you have to brag about your win last year over us considering your last win before that was in 1993, and you only have one other win since 1985. (2-13)

Which is exactly what I said in my post. Everyfanbase has their idiot fans

I am just laughing at the dramatic outrage from a lot of your fans.

Our team is almost all freshman and the 3 youngest in the NCAA's. We will be fine. We will take some lumps this year though.

That Nurse guy on their site is hilarious. All his titles in his signature and the link to his site is too much. and then all his whining. LOL priceless

Oh my God...

Look, I think I'm as big of a fan of USF as you'll find. And I've definitely called a few UCF fans on it when they come on and bait us. But this is freaking ridiculous. Why would a USF fan start this thread? Unless you are clamoring for a response, which is what I suspect was the motivation. This was such stinky bait that I almost feel bad for the UCF fans who have to respond to it.

OK, so USF won a home game over a C-USA team not named Memphis. And didn't cover the spread. If you're happy about it, fine, go revel in the win on a USF board. Why subject the rest of the Big East fans to this? Are we expecting Syracuse, UConn, Louisville, Pitt, Cincinnati or West Virginia fans to be impressed by a four point win? UConn's about to lay the lumber to them in Orlando. The ONLY reason to type this is to promote a flame war.

At the risk of sounding like I'm lecturing anybody, you can't expect more out of others than you're willing to give yourself...

We've been posting basketball results all year. This is a rivalry game so its a big deal for our basketball team. Theres no rivalry in football, but in basketball its a fun series that deserves some mention.
