Big Game Tonight in St. Louis
We've been on a roll for such a young team and so many road games. We've had a break and just went through exams. I am looking forward to seeing how we play a pretty good St. Louis squad. Part of me wishes we didn't have this layoff to keep up the good play, but we probably needed the exam break as well.

Game is on 104.5 tonight.

SLU is a small team (only 1 player over 6'7 averaging significant minutes) so if we keep pounding the ball inside we will have a significant advantage. I'm really looking forward to seeing how we play against another quality team on the road... on a side note, the most recent ESPN Bracketology has us as a 13 seed

I'm with you Afro, let's pound it inside. We have had a few too many turnovers when we have done that, but I'm hoping that as we get used to being the bigger team that we will improve low post feeds. SLU has a good coach who will probably anticipate our desire to dump it low and try to defend it.

This is the type of game we and the ASun needs to take and help our RPI.

Something a lot of people discuss on this board is how teams need wins against big name schools or even mid majors, I think it should be that teams need to get wins in general. The reason the ASun has such a low RPI is because there are only 2 teams with a winning record

Edit: Real Time RPI doesn't count 2 of Campbells wins (I'm assuming they weren't D1 schools) and has us as the only team with a winning record in the ASun

I don't think the Real Time RPI is as accurate as the State of College Basketball rankings over at Basketball State. Here is the State of the Atlantic Sun. In my opinion, BBState is a much better source for College Basketball news.

Best of luck tonight. It's critical that we win these OOC games to raise our lowly conference RPI.

I like bbstate as well. Also, you may already know of the site below, but this is an excellent site to run all sorts of statistical analyses including player/team comparisons, individual stats, team stats, past schedules & player stats, etc.

Well, we looked flat. Belmont didn't help the league or their own RPI with this one. I'm looking forward to us getting it together Saturday.

Please don't be discouraged by last night's events. You guys ran into a hall of fame coach in Rick Majerus. You also ran into a very good passing and shooting team that hasn't lost all year at home. And I think them being labeled as undersized is a misnomer. I don't think anyone would have imagined that they would have blocked 10 of your shots in the game. That young Reed kid is going to be a beast!

Just chalk it up as a valuable learning experience for the conference.

I knew this was a toughie, and that is about the outcome I expected. I am proud of a nice, spirited comeback. To have to down to 4 in the last minute is competitive, which we should be. However, us winning there with this young team would have been an upset. I am becoming more and more convinced that we are going to be very tough as the year rolls on. Hopefully the freshmen won't "hit the wall" with the long season.
