Proposed Brooklyn Arena
I read today the idea is picking up steam to get the Nets in Brooklyn. Anybody hear if the Big East would want to get any games in there? The only hoops school I can think of in Brooklyn is Long Island, and I doubt they are going to revive their program, although they were a powerhouse until a scandal rocked them in the 40's or 50's.

It would be a great spot for the women to hold their tourney.

If they build a new arena for the Nets in Brooklyn, it would be a very good venue for a tournament...

it would be a great place to hold a tournament for a split league (not trying to make this a split topic). and honestly i think that having another nba arena in new york makes a split a little bit more likely to happen because both sides can say that they have their tournaments in new york.

St. John's hasn't been worth having in the Garden lately. They haven't won many games there in recent memory...

Fordham is also a possible tenant for big games. Their gym is outdated.

Their gym is older than the game of basketball.

The last few years, MSG has been less and less interested in having SJU play at the Garden. Also, SJU is more of a "Brooklyn"-type school than it is a Manhattan one anyway.

I know Fordham is in the Bronx, but are they a "Brooklyn"-type school? (I don't know that much about NYC, only been there twice.) Or would they be more like an MSG school. I know they hosted Notre Dame in the Garden before.
