UTC (Southern Conference) played University of Cumberlands (NAIA) school 2 years ago. Would much rather play a NAIA school than DIII type school.

RE: 2010 Football Schedule
Do we play Wise at home or away?
Both ODU and Georgia State come to the Creek in '10, correct?

RE: 2010 Football Schedule
Nothing surprising. I only wondered if we'd have a 12th game.
6 home games (3 consecutive in Sept.)
Will the ODU masses come to the Creek only to find an unfinished stadium? Better find more temporary bleachers!

RE: 2010 Football Schedule
I agree. We are going to need more seating for ODU. They bring people and sold out every one of their games in their 10,000 plus stadium last year. Unfortunately, I doubt much work will be done on the stadium before then. It is sad that we finally are getting a bigger school to come to the Creek and what will greet them is an unfinished facility.

RE: 2010 Football Schedule
Yes, it is disappointing the Stadium is not finished. I was told the cash was already there and would be completed by this year, but was told that a year ago. Guess that's not going to happen. I can only hope that the team has a great season, wins a bunch of games, and almost 'forces' the completion of the stadium by the success of the football team. The schedule is a tough one, and I don't fault them for playing a NAIA team to open the year. There will be no cake-walks after the 1st one.

RE: 2010 Football Schedule
I agree an NAIA school to open the season may be tougher than a Division III (Methodist) since they can offer scholarships at an NAIA. I also think playing an unfamiliar opponent on the road is always difficult especially as the opening game of the year.

RE: 2010 Football Schedule
My preditions on the football season
Sept 4 at UVa-Wise (Win)
Sept 11 Old Dominion (Loss)
Sept 18 Davidson* (Win)
Sept 25 Georgia State (Parents' Day) (Loss)
Oct. 2 at Butler* (Loss)
Oct. 9 Bye
Oct. 16 Drake* (Win)
Oct. 23 at Dayton* (Loss)
Oct. 30 Marist* (Homecoming) (Win)
Nov. 6 Valparaiso* (Win)
Nov 13 at Jacksonville* (Loss)
Nov 20 at Morehead State* (Toss UP)
We either finish 5-6 or 6-5 if the coaches turn them lose and let them play and don't get in the way.

RE: 2010 Football Schedule
My predictions on the football season
Sept 4 at UVa-Wise (Win) - a very close game
Sept 11 Old Dominion (Loss) - this one might get ugly quickly
Sept 18 Davidson* (Win) - we need avenge the losses to them the last two years
Sept 25 Georgia State (Parents' Day) (Loss) - facing a scholarship program with athletes from Georgia is going to be tough
Oct. 2 at Butler* (Loss) - I could either way if it was at home. I think we can win this one if we at least play Georgia State tough the previous week
Oct. 9 Bye
Oct. 16 Drake* (Loss) - not close both times we have faced them on the road
Oct. 23 at Dayton* (Loss) - another tough game for our youngsters
Oct. 30 Marist* (Homecoming) (Loss) - they were much better in their first year in the PFL than anticipated
Nov. 6 Valparaiso* (Win) - It will be closer than last year but we get the edge since we are at home.
Nov 13 at Jacksonville* (Loss) - A closer loss than last time at their place but still a loss.
Nov 20 at Morehead State* (Win) - I was no impressed with what I saw of them last year.
4-7 record. Still improving the program little by little.
