Heck, I don't think I have even explicitly inquired as to one's gender on here. Some posters I know are female, some I know to be male, most I know by only their screen name, which usually doesn't give me a clue (not that I would care anyway). A Tiger fan is a Tiger fan to me.

I admin another forum, (completely unrelated to Tigers or athletics) and the time spent between keeping it running, keeping the software and mods up to date, keeping everyone happy, and keeping everyone interested, I would never ASK to be a mod or admin. It is a very time consuming job. Its nice to be just on the 'member' side here.

No one "gets to be a mod". They are asked about the possibility and put up for nomination for the existing mod team to discuss. We do not take solicitations. Moderation is thankless, at times stressful, while also at times fulfilling. It's definitely not easy and certainly emotions cannot rule.

I moderated a yahoo chat room years ago, it is definitely thankless and stressful, and very time consuming. Chat rooms are a different animal though.

true that, I moderated chat for Talk City from 99-2002...back when they were still owned by NBC, and still relevant.
They're still around, but with a fraction on the membership they once had.

Not me, I'm just saying that other people on other forums have asked before. I'm sure its happened here too. They don't know what they would be getting themselves into...
