I agree that having a time frame to pull out the troops is not the smartest thing, but it is hard to get bi-partisan support w/o it, unfortunately. I am hoping he is smart enough to listen to the military leaders on the ground when the time comes, and will adjust accordingly. I do think he is at least smart enough to know that if he pulls our troops out completely in that time frame, and God forbid, another attack on U.S. soil was to happen as a result, it will be forever linked to him. At this point I don't see him getting elected to a second term, and I don't think he would be willing to take that chance. That is obviously just my opinion.

The delay in his troop decision was completely linked to the recent elections. Anyone paying attention realizes that.

Playing politics while our military men and women fighters are engaged in war, and our military leaders are asking for help in the name of more troops. Just plain irresponsible on the part of the president.

I haven't seen many here who have been against the war in Afgahnistan. Most of the anti-war crowd I have seen here were against going into Iraq and the original cutting of troops in Afgahnistan.

I know that was the crowd I was in.

His plan is immoral IMO.

What do you want him to do? If he sends troops you say NO if he says we'r eout you say "can't do that".

Is he going over there to win it, or is he just making a showing?

It appears the latter is true. But that's what Obama does best..........make a showing. I'm sure he's due for an Oprah appearance about now.
