University of Akron football coach fired
Just read on another website that the entire football coaching staff has been relieved of their duties.

I think Akron lost a good coach with this move, one of the best in the MAC in my opinion.

Imagine how some on this Board would react if the Huskies had four losing seasons in a row under coach Kill. I liked Brookhart too and Akron like NIU is a tough place to win.

How is NIU a tough place to win? We're in a large market, weak conference, now decent facilities, and have a lot of TV coverage for a MAC school. There aren't many easier places at the non-BCS level to go over .500 than NIU considering our schedule and our in-state recruiting competition.

Akron has that new beautiful football stadium they have to fill. Agree the coach was good and took them farther than they had ever been as none of us will forget Detroit. Not sure where the direction of this program is headed and maybe we can steal a few recruits from them.

I think there may have been some off the field problems that added to the firing

I was sorta thinking the same thought as I think of him a clever, skilled and asute game day coach that won a MACC. Not many can say the same.
