I truly feel bad for him. He just wasn't a good fit here and things just seemed to snowball on him. Good man, bad coach for Louisville right now.
Yeah, that not leaving volunteerly is really going over very well here.
He knows he is toast, offer him a good buyout and be done with it. We need to rebuild and with the way he left the program it is going to take at least 3 solid years of recruiting to rebuild the talent level to even compete in the BIG EAST.
Kragger had a Lexus and ran it into a ditch, backed up and ran it back into the same ditch.
Kragger certainly ruined you guys. How realistic is Leach guy? I mean what happened Tuberville? I thought he might be a good fit. I think you guys need to look for someone long term vs. someone that will take off after couple of successful seasons.

Leach and Texas Tech had essentially agreed on the financial terms of a five-year, $12.7 million deal. But Leach took issue with several clauses the school added when the sides were trading proposals.

If you do the math, Leach is making $2.54 million at Texas Tech, meaning Louisville would probably have to offer at least $2.75 - $3.0 million to get him out of Lubbock. I'm not buying this one for a second.
I don't buy it either. I would not pay that much for him as he has never really had a dominant program. Sort of a middle of the road program that every once in a while does well. I am not sure how much money Louisville has but some of the posters said that Louisville is loaded with money so if that is true, why doesn't Jurich go after the best, they could go after Bill Cowher or Mike Shanahan, two very successful superbowl winning NFL coaches. They both have quite a bit of money so they might be willing to coach for maybe $4 million/season.

Are there any rivers and lakes near Louisville? If you offer Mike Leach a pirate ship that he can take out on a body of water, you've got yourself a football coach. You could probably sweeten the deal if you work something out with the law enforcement authorities where he is allowed to sink a couple of ships a year. Also, if Leach says no, Tommy West is available.

RE: Mike Leach to Louisville?
You guys make me laugh
there is NO WAY Leach would leave a Big 12 school to goto a school a few years removed from ConfUSA.
Nevermind the salary difference. I don't care what you say - no school has the ability to pay unlimited funds for a coach. That is just stupid to even think that.
And don't try to use that $25MM/10year contract BS that was offered to Petrino. No school would offer that kind of money to an unproven coach (unproven at the new school).

Probably have to throw in a few soldiers for him to beat....

He'd probably go for restraining orders against the players girlfriends....I heard he doesn't like girlfriends too much, especially the overweight midget ones......

we endure this everyyear - usually turns out to be 100% rumor
not really from UofL - maybe from a school with a real shot of getting him
but good luck anyway
