We don't need to convince Pastner to stay; he's incredibly loyal and he genuinely loves Memphis; but we need to pay him and we need to lock him up as quickly as possible. There is absolutely nothing preventing a big school from offering Pastner $5-6 million per year, but it is reassuring to think (hope!) that unlike Cal; Pastner will tell potential suitors IMMEDIATELY that he is happy here and won't even listen to them.
