Unlike the AP rankings, the Harris Poll actually counts in the BCS formula, but it receives little coverage from a jealous media interested in trying to diminish its importance.

I'm sorry but how do any 4 loss teams have any business even getting votes? None of those teams are any good this year.

A 4 loss team gets votes because the voters are either morons, or ultimate homers... 03-banghead

The other point of contention in the poll is a two loss Ohio State being ranked ahead of Pitt.

No sh!t. Ohio State's loss to Purdue stinks much worse than Pitt's loss to NC State, since Pitt's loss happened early in the season, while OSU's loss was just a couple of weeks ago. Their loss to USC doesn't look so hot now either...

Agreed that the Purdue loss is worse, but Ohio State also just beat a highly ranked Penn State in Happy Valley pretty handily. They also pounded a ranked Wisconsin team a couple of weeks ago. Those 2 wins are better than any Pitt win - that could certainly change over the coming weeks with ND, WVU and Cincy on the schedule. It's more of a reflection of the strength of schedule at this point (which I think is fair to heavily take into account in putting a 2-loss team over a 1-loss team).

Do you guys realize PSU is overrated like most of the B10 teams? IOWA being over Cincy is a joke. Thank god Northwestern (a team CUSE beat BTW) took them out and exposed them. Cincy would beat that IOWA team by 2 TDs.

Actually, the voters were pretty skeptical about Iowa (as they should've been) - the computers loved Iowa, but the human voters preferred Cincy. Maybe PSU is "overrated" (although people tend to think their own conference is awesome and everyone else is "overrated"), but OSU simply has had better wins at this point and few people knock you for playing and losing to USC (even in a down year). That is all. If Pitt wins 2 of the next 3 games, then it's a different story when comparing them to OSU.
