Vint indicated that we were doing alot of 4 out 1 in motion and Memphis dribble drive. Did it look that way in person? Those offenses are hard to grasp at first so it may take a while to understand how to play those offenses.

Soloman Bozeman looks like a really good player. But probably passed it less frequently than Stevie did, even when he was playing the point. That that may be why Steve started Lionel at the point and Solo at the 2. Lionel still looks like the best "true" point guard to me- he appears most interested in distributing the ball, which is what a good point guard should do. Solo looked more like a scorer- drives well to the hoop (except for one missed open layup) and shot it well (despite an odd looking release).
Alex looks like he will be a very good player. Other new guys showed little, if anything.
Svelte Mike looked good as well. However, he doesn't set as good of a pick
as he did when he was 300 pounds.
Solo looked like a Big East talent playing against a DII team. Didn't see much talent difference between the rest of our players and Harding's kids. Maybe it was simply the fact that they wanted it more, and played that way.

The reason Lionel started was that III was sick, and Steve considered not playing him at all. His throat was sore and he could hardly swallow.
However, he did get a lot of minutes, but as usual didn't get a lot of help from his teammates in getting him the ball. He did make some nice plays. Some nice goals, and good assists, and an awesome block on a kid going in for a layup. As we've said for going on three years now, they need to work on plays to get him open, but it just doesn't seem a priority. I thought with all those closed practice, there would be something new, but you can see it's the same system.
But when you give up 80 points to anyone, with our offense, we're normally going to lose. When you give up 80 points to a D2 school, it's obvious the defense needs a lot of work. It will get better. I'm not giving up on this team. As bad as we looked today, I still say, no worse than 2nd in the West.
