I almost saw this happen last week watching football and asked around. Nobody knows for certain what the ruling would be.

There is a pass and the receiver falls down and slides into the endzone. Meanwhile he is bobbling the ball across the goal line but gets control one yard in.

So is it a TD? or an incomplete pass?

As long as the ball never hits the ground, and he doesn't go out of bounds, it's a TD...

If the player has control of the ball and hits the ground, the play is dead at that point. If he is bobbling it and he hits the ground it is dead when he gains control of it, it hits the ground, or goes out of bounds.
