Lee Corso is an idiot
Did you hear him dissing UC? He's going by Vegas lines for his predictions now? And we all know Vegas' history in predicting BEast games isn't the best. Nobody really studies eastern football, so nobody can predict sh!t. If they were decent at such prediction, The BEast would have had a team or 3 in the preseason polls...

I saw it too. And did anyone else notice Herbstreit's obvious embarrassment at Corso's little tangent? They couldn't take any of those 3 teams, please. They'd destroy questionable Florida. And at worst would be in it until the very end with Texas and Alabama.

RE: Lee Corso is an idiot
Corso says that he doesn't think that UC could be Texas, Alabama, or Florida, and pulled out some stupid stat that had Cincinnati as an underdog to all of them. Then he tried to insinuate that Oklahoma was a better team then Cincinnati saying they would be favored to beat UC, and the crew looked like him like he had a crack pipe in his hands. Then, the kicker, Corso says that he doesn't think that Cincinnati is a good team, but they'll beat UConn today. He was serious, he wasn't even joking. Kudos to the crew for treating him like a crazy old man. I know he had a stroke, but I doubt it had anything to do with that stupid @ss comment he made.

Yeah, it was pretty bad. We have been hard on Herbstreit, but he has talking well about Cincinnati. He tried to soften Corso's insane comments by bringing up how great a job Kelly was doing, and how we would have our football practice facility up and running this summer.

It's sad that out-of-touch folks like Corso still have jobs.

This was the same guy who said that Alabama would destry Utah. The game has passed Corso by, and he doesn't event realize it.

RE: Lee Corso is an idiot
I stopped watching Gameday a few weeks ago - Desmond Howard is in charge of their official Twitter account, and he never shuts up on it (borderline spamming) about USC, Florida, Bama, Meatchicken - so I asked him if, in his little world, if those are the only teams that exist, and why Gameday rarely mentions UC even though they're top five, and when they do mention them, why they're so consistently negative about us. He responded with some bratty little remark about how I need to pay closer attention to the show. I pretty much told him the only thing more laughable than his Twitter account is his performance on the show. Haven't watched since.

I'm not going to join in the Herbie hate-fest that sometimes bubbles up around here because I've known him my entire life (we grew up in the same town and our parents are good friends) and he tries harder than anyone on that show to be neutral, including Fowler. But Corso is seriously bordering on senility at this point. He makes that show unwatchable.

Lee Corso said WVU couldn't beat Georgia in the 2006 Sugar Bowl, or Oklahoma in the 2008 Fiesta Bowl. He also said Boise couldn't beat Oklahoma in the 2007 Fiesta Bowl, and Utah would get destroyed by Alabama in last year's Sugar Bowl. His record in big games sucks, just like it did in college as a head coach...

Has he go on his "SEC speed" rant yet? As if SEC players are somehow faster than other players on the football field. The guy is a absolute joke. I am sure the only people who love him are SEC fans or FLA, Ala and OU fans.

Beats me. I'm watching the WVU game, and he isn't in Morgantown (praises be)...

I've always said Herbie tries to be fair and is kind of old school in that he likes to say something positive about everyone. Trust me I know exactly what hate-fest you're talking about. And I think he's genuinely excited about the Bearcats run this year, it kinda showed in his embarrassment at what Corso was doing.

I was thinking the same thing-Utah, WVU x 2 how many times does he get it wrong before they pull his plug. I think the others were embarassed since UConn - Cincy is the lead game in primetime. Not a smart move for marketing purposes.

Unfortunately this year, it doesn't seem we'll get the chance to prove him wrong once again. Even if LSU wins today and Florida loses in the Championship, I have the feeling it will still be Texas vs SEC.

I am also wondering if MichaelSavage on this board is related to Lee Corso. MS thinks "big boys" play bigger and Corso thinks SEC players are just "faster" than other players because they are in the SEC. This mentality is very similar. I wonder if Lee Corso and MS are the same person.

No. They can't be. Unfortunately, MS makes more sense than Corso. Corso's an idiot. MS is just an annoyance...

You're right, GG. Just about everyone said Alabama would destroy Utah. The only people who weren't saying that were from Utah...

Well...Corso's analysis for this game was much closer than Vegas, who had UC a -13.5 pt favorite.

With Corso's health issues this year...no clue on how much time he has to watch games, look at film...but one should remember he is basically an "entertainer".

Hope he has many more years of "entertaining" left.

You would... 03-banghead

Frankly, Lee Corso outlived his usefullness when he was fired by Indiana. He never should have been given the job at Northern Illinois - or ESPN...

Very few fit the job description of actually being able to improve one's own looks by putting on hideous college mascot headgear. Corso fits that to a tee 03-lmfao
