Let's say that's correct, then the choice they are making by playing soft is to allow the QB the easy short pass and the WRs to run around the CBs versus making the QB make the harder long sideline pass.

I'd like to see them (try to) make the QB run to his soft side and try and make the long sideline pass.

It is very concerning that this team has gotten progressively worse as the season has gone on this year. It should be just the opposite.

Opelt is fine. Coach's decision to put Dantin in.

Miami carving us up on defense. This game is over, unless something changes.

No........... Its called I'm right. I've seen more inner city and small school high school football players play there defensive positions a heck of a lot better than what our defense players do. Except for Church, there isn't much talent on the defensive side of the ball.

Opelt did not throw like he was fine.

Wonder if quick five - seven yard pass routes are open for Dantin.

No........ Its called you don't really need to bring others into this, let alone Lott.

Make up your mind, is it players not playing their positions correctly (coaching) or player talent? Both? Everyone else puts out there what they'd do differently for others to criticize. You blather without offering alternatives.

RE: MU Game Thread
The injuries to Opelt haven't helped us with the season. With Opelt - we beat Temple. This game isn't over yet, but still don't have a healthy Opelt playing.

Nevertheless, our defense has not been good all year except against NIU - and now the offense is terrible with a hurt true freshman and/or a 3rd string JC transfer at QB.

The defense has gotten progressively worse for 9 straight years - and that's a major issue.

dude, our team blows. we need to score before half or were done for. our defense is obviously one of the worst in the nation when we've given up 21 points in the first half to a team that couldnt score a point in the first 3 games of their season

Miami averaged 12 points per game before we came to town.

I am tired of our team coming out flat and talking about it. Oh, we came out flat! WTF is it going to take to stop coming out flat.

Its both!!! Have you been blind for the past 4+ years???? How bout I compare our defense, with the 8th grade football team from St. Rose in Perrysburg or the 5th graders at St. Pat's. I'm sure they would score on our defense.
And you want a solution to the problem, 4 good years of recruiting on the defensive side of the ball, will do it. Because right now, the talent we have isn't cutting it and its just going to get worse when Church graduates.

That's a coaching issue...seems like the team has given up once again. We keep hearing the right things, but you have to wonder if the team is no longer buying in. That is concerning considering this is the first year with a new staff.
