Step #1: Fire Karcher and replace him someone who knows what he's doing.
Step #2: Recruit, recruit, recruit. 25 schollies to give. At least 15 of them should be on defensive players - especially DL and LB.

Add to the assistants to fire Eric Lewis the defensive coordinator. Ball State 463 yards rushing 4 TDs and 8.1 average!!! And English was a defensive coordinator for years before becoming head coach and "his" defense has allowed every team we've played to beat EMU on the ground.

To me its a combination of players and new schemes that may have worked at U of M (where I'm pretty sure the offensive scheme- Pro Offense came from), injuries to key players and the rest the losing mindset.

Never the defensive schemes or offensive schemes appear to have worked. And yes Wooden the fundementals appeared to not have improved either.

I didn't expect miracles from Ron English, but winning maybe four games like Army or Temple didn't seem like asking miracles to me.

Me and about 100 Ball St fans. Many of them said what a great fan I was. Man this is tough.

A good defense starts with a good offense we have NO offense. The defense gave us field position, fumbles and an interception and the offense did squat with it.

Disagree. EMU's offense is bad but EMU only got good field position when BSU made mistakes. BSU didn't have a passing game today and only ran about 4 or 5 different plays. EMU knew what was coming and still gave up 465 net rushing yards. 465YARDS!!! That's pathetic defense.

A good offense keeps a bad defense off the field, 8 punts! If the offense had scored touchdowns instead of field goals the game was in the bag. 35 to 29

Steve, DirecTV is a wonderful idea. I'm grateful for my Sports Pack, I was just too far from home.

DirecTV (or other packages) makes it possible to be a MAC fan when it is too painful to watch EMU revenue sports.

The pathetic part of this is that we're both right. The offense and defense are bad.

Could be that English and staff are the biggest mistake! Team needs players, coaching, fans and soem time but personally I'm tired of all the negatives and all the losing. English has his work cut out for him. Incidently , anyon check out the louuisvillle Cardinals defense lately? Pretty porous.

Wish I had the answers but my interest in EMU football is dwindling pretty fast. What started out to be an exciting year has turned into one of the worst seasons EMU has ever experienced and we have had some real bad ones in the past.

Thought English would lay the foundation this year and predicted 4-5 W's but not to be - SAD!
