I'd say going forward it is better for UC for Pitt and WVU to stay ranked. 2 more wins against top 25 teams would help much more in the voters minds as they see the here and now, they don't typically look backwards.

Maybe the October/November swoon has more to due with the lack of playing quality teams early in the year. Look at all the crappy teams that USF seems to play early in the year... only FSU has any respect among the teams they played this year.
