I think most of the nation will tune into the football game. It'll be way more exciting than baseball...

RE: USF getting close to selling out 65K seat RJS for Cincy
As much as it saddens me, I've grown to be much more of a college football (although not NFL) fan than baseball fan, but I'll be flipping between at least some tonight. I want to see a Yankees-Dodgers World Series (and see the Yanks win it of course 02-13-banana ).

I'll also be routing for Cincinnati. No offense South Florida, but I've never been a fan of Florida schools for some reason.

I'll check the score in the Dodger's game from time to time. But that's about the extent of it for me...

I waited, but only saw a lot of empty red seats... :)

I will give credit where it is due - great job by the USF fans for filling up the stadium last night. It looked great on TV and was a good showcase for the Big East.

Got a text from a friend at the game that said the livestock was heading for the turnstyles at about the 13 minute mark of the 4th quarter. Mass exodus. Way to hang in there, folks.

That was a major league atomosphere, and that is exactly why UC needs to expand Nippert. Even if it's only to 45,000+ that would still make it a great venue for a game.

(In addition to the $5-$10 tickets that went on sale for last night's game...)

From Tampa Tribune:

Actual Attendance: 55,073
Posted By Joey Johnston at Oct 16, 2009 at 04:57 PM
Updated Oct 16, 2009 at 05:00 PM

According to the Tampa Sports Authority, actual attendance at Thursday night’s game between the University of South Florida and Cincinnati was 55,073.

At the game, a crowd of 63,976 was announced. As part of USF’s game-week marketing blitz, an unspecified number of tickets were given away, so there’s fun with numbers in any of the attendance figures.

But it was a loud, boisterous crowd, that’s for sure.

Is Cincy consistently filling Nippert now?

Well, Big House we certainly aint' but UC will easily set an all time season attendance record this year. Nippert only seats around 35,500, but it was well over 90% capacity for Double-Directional Missouri State D-1AA school and Fresno State...UL, WVU, UCONN and Illinois are either already sold out or will be shortly. UC fans are doing just fine.

Yeah many left after we failed to get a first down so I think attendance was down at that point to what the Bearcats have at home when they
sell out their games. 03-nutkick

Cute.

I'll cut them some slack. After all, the 13 minute mark was about the time when all the UC fans left Nippert Stadium after our defensive end caught a pass for a TD to ice another victory against USF last year.03-nutkick Back atcha.

I know it was killing you when the subtle approach didn't work re: the low priced tickets...

And you wonder why USF fans want nothing to do with UCF in the Big East...

Well if you are a real Bearcat fan you would know that not too long ago when UC was at the other end of the scoreboard just as many would have been doing the same.

Now if only you had half as much class as your team when you win I would call you a real fan.

Congrats to your team on the win and to the classy UC fans on this board. As for you learn to win with class my friend because sooner or later the shoe will be on the other foot.
