Quote: Threloff said, “It was really a lot of fun and I enjoyed myself. The coaches are great up there, and so are the players. I’m glad I took a visit.”

That doesn't sound like someone who will come to Kalamazoo.

I talked to him last night and will have basically the exact stuff in my article.

My take is he will end up at ISU. I think his chat with Doug Collins at the induction was VERY impressive to him.

RE: Jordan Threloff weighs in on his recruiting process
Everything I have read tells me that Jordan is a solid person.

Comments regarding his interaction with his Mom, statements he has made all point to kid with good head on his shoulders. I trust that at the end he'll make the best decision for himself and his own.

I read into his comments that he was pleasantly surprised by his visit to WMU. How so, I'm not sure. Though not in the biz, I got to think that his visit was not all hoops. Likely spent a lot of time with his host(s) looking and hoping a connection was made. But he's been up before and likely seen all the athletic related sites. I wonder if he spent time with President Dunn? I read Dunn has clear visions for the future and is putting things in place to bring them to fruition.

My hope is that the taking of time is allowing the most of emotions to subside and to come to rationale decision. Jordan is still a kid but one with whom I believe has faced and dealt with some challenging life situations. Situations that have possibly made him more mature than his peers.

Re Dougie Collins. My quip would be that he was the distant past. If Jordan wants to carve a future out at an institution then do so.

The landscape changes very quickly in athletics, college in particular.

It was only a couple years ago that Drake captured lightening in a bottle. Then the bottle floated off to Providence.

ISU and WMU have not set the world on fire. One years success does not translate into a "run". Both programs know that. ISU does have more of a commitment to basketball over football. But that's no assurance of anything. But this . . . more coaches that do well in the MVC move on and sooner. Davis, Turgeon, McDermott and Altman come to mind. I know Altman didn't go but he did.

But that movement doesnt mean the MVC is superior as proven by WMU beating a more talented SIU and then a Elite 8 Davidson squad in the same year. It just means you may or may not get another coach in your 4 years.

There is no question Jordan Threloff would be a cornerstone recruit for this program. He will have superior athletes around him in Ward, Brown and Whitfield. He would also be a draw for '11 recruits as Jordan established himself this year in AAU ball.

I hope he likes to establish and carve out his own history, as I think he would at WMU.

One question. Where would they put his statue?
