I might go. Is anything planned before the game?

The Grand Rapids group has four of us going. There isn't anything special going on, we'll tailgate at the game somewhere.

Always proud to be a Bronco.

I'm glad you guys are going, Acer. We definitely need Bronco fans at that game. It's gonna be a very difficult one. NIU's lookin' tough this year.

My wife and I will be there. Already had a trip to Chicago planned for this coming weekend so we decided to go over to the game. From the aerial photos, it looks like parking is a problem there. Anyone else been there before? Know any good routes/parking areas where Bronco fans will be?

This is actually one of the three games I won't make this year (IU, Kent State). Enjoy yourselves and PLEASE bring home a Bronco Victory!

JP - was there a few years ago. As I recall traffic is pretty hectic getting in, but there were plenty of fields to actually park once you got there. NIU is a pretty large tailgating fan base for MAC standards.

I'm guessing if there was a bunch of rain leading up to the game it could be a muddy mess. At this point, no clue where Bronco fans will be.

My advice would be to plan on getting there at least 2 hrs prior to game time to make sure no traffic jams will make you late for the game.

I'll be driving over from Chicago and will miss most of the 1st quarter. Anyone have an extra ticket they'd like to sell?

It's Homecoming, so they should have a good crowd. I'm just going to grab tickets there. I'll bet they'll be cheap.

Your best bet will be to get there early to park/tailgate. I believe the non donor lots open 3.5 hours before gametime. Most likely you will need to park at the Convocation Center. I assume most of you will be coming in on I88, so you can either exit at Annie Glidden Rd. and take a left on Lincoln Hwy to the convo. Or, if you get to DeKalb closer to gametime, exit at Peace Rd and take a right (North), and hang a left on Lincoln Hwy (AKA rt 38) to the convo. This may help you avoid traffic on Annie Glidden Rd.

Here is a map:

"Event Parking" is where you will most likely end up parking. But being the nice guy I am, try to get into the "K" lot, but it fills up quick.

RE: Is Anyone Going to the Northern Illinois Game?
Arrive three hrs before kickoff and parking should NOT be a huge obstacle.

Difficult to predict if turnout will be HUGE as is the custom or subpar like last week's mystery when weather forecast was grim early but cleared and was near perfect.

Homecoming has always been a big deal at NIU - one of the oldest in Midwest and preceeding U Illinois.

The empty cornfields surrounding far west campus & convo lots are often windy and unsheltered.

In fact compared to my recollections having been at WMU twice, parking within blocks of Huskie Stadium is much more abundant at NIU. Many lots are much more conducive to tailgating than others. Some lots along Lincoln Highway not far from stadium are private and likely more expensive.

Plan to pay $10 to park and $20 per game ticket.

Idaho alums had a tent in lot near to Stadium.

When all is said and done, just dont leave DeKalb having had too good a time meaning Broncos won.
