Great job to stuff them for the safety, now they need to take the free quick and score quickly.

RE: Baylor Bears
I just wish they could finish a drive. If kicking was going good today and we didn't have to go for it it on 4th down in the redzone twice, and take away the 2 blocked kicks, it's a totally different game.

The special teams and penalties are killing us, but we're really playing a helluva game. Love Spencer Keith. And the defense has played huge.

RE: Baylor Bears
Second time the punter gets 'roughed' by virtue of the offense blocking our player into the punter. This one signals the end of the game.

And I won't even mention the cheap block in the back call that brought back the TD in the first half.

RE: Baylor Bears
Yeah that was a terrible one, not only was it on his side I'm not even sure he made contact with him. The ref from wayyy far away and the offensive backside called it so he had a horrible angle.

Agreed. It looks like there might be some hope if they can play a clean game. I really thought that they played with Baylor and that's one that got away. I try to stay off of the officials, but they got homered on the roughing calls and the blocks in the back.

RE: Baylor Bears
Only following the gamecast, I am glad to see that some of Kent State's penalties were bad calls. What more can be said about blocking for placekicks? They should have nine guys out there who at least did it in high school.

As for everything else, the defense looked like it really tightened up. At least KSU has three safeties now this year. Terry might be the real thing, but why only 12 carries? What kind of passes were the completions? Short catch and runs, intermediate routes or both? I noticed several 15 to 20 yard completions, an aspect that has often been missing from Martin's passing game. Also after seeing Dysert the last two weeks and reading about Keith, could we look back in November and say those are the two best QBs in the MAC East? I know UB, BG and OU all like their QBs, but KSU and Miami might be set for a while.

If anything, a "good" loss makes me entirely too hopeful for Saturday. I have to work later in the evening, so I can't attend but I will definitely be watching on FSOhio.

RE: Baylor Bears
It was mostly the dink and dunk passing game, very short passes and bubble screens, but at least they used the middle of the field at times as well as finding Konz & Simpson.
