SportsCenter - Great Pike Pub
Todd McShay was just on SportsCenter talkin about his top 5 heisman prospects not named Tebow or McCoy. Pike was 3
He said he likes him as a Heisman prospect but loves him as pro prospect. Made this comment: Mark Sanchez took USC into Corvalis and did nothing with arguably most talented team in country. Pike to Cincy cross country and won where USC could not.
Also basically pointed out how he is owning Kelly offense, etc
But than they showed the ESPN.com poll, who do you think has best chance and Pike was not there, Claussen was instead.
The other four mentioned was Tate Forcier, Jacory Harris, Case Keenum, and Jahvid Best. But Claussen was with those 4 in poll not Pike.
Well I guess were taking steps towards respect, not fully there yet.

If the Bearcats keep on winning and Pike continues to throw 300+ yards per game.....we will see him in NY.

BOTH! Pike may be the best pro QB prospect out there for the draft. If he goes in the first round, that would be enourmous from a QB recruiting standpoint (same with being a Heisman finalist).

Two years ago who would have thought that we'd be talking about Tony Pike for Heisman? Crazy. I seem to remember talk around here about how if Pike could throw he'd be ideal because Grutza was too short and couldn't see over the o-line. But I don't think anybody expected this.

I did. I was in Pike's corner from the 1st.
At least I think it was me. I'm old you know. A lttle forgetful too. In fact, last week, I forgot I was married. Can you believe it?

I was a member of the ABBP (anybody but Pike) Club when Grutza went down last year. I never saw this coming.

This whole year feels just like the 1991-92 basketball season. The same build-up the two years before. The same feeling that things are going to break our way this year.

The big diff seems to be that the Bearcat hoops teams never seemed to be as accepted by the media and other coaches/teams the way this football team has been. You don't hear the crap about "how" BK has done it and the other mostly fabricated stuff that always followed Huggs and Co. IMO that is a huge testament to BK and his staff and players.
But yeah, I definitely feel that magic surrounding this team. Keeping my fingers crossed that BK can leverage this for more than just the one magical season and can keep the 'Cats at the level where we are consistently playing in that Dec 31 or 1st week of January time frame.
