RE: One on One with Brian Kelly.
I wouldn't blame him if he took off. He's not really asking for that much. Freaking MAC schools have practice fields. I am truly concerned about the school's inability to get this done in the two full years (almost 3?) years BK's been asking for it.
I do think if UC gets it done, we don't have much to worry about, but why haven't we yet?

It can't be that they have everything to lose" and the facilities compared to the rest of the BE are flat out "[n]egative". However, that can't make Cincy fans feel very warm and fuzzy. If my Illini falter this season and don't make a bowl, there are going to be a ton of rumblings about a coaching change, so that's one Big Ten possibility. Don't forget about Notre Dame if Charlie Weis doesn't make it to a BCS bowl, as well.
The man already turned down Nebraska, Washington, and GaTech (I believe)...we won't be losing him to Illinois...and that's not a knock on your school either.
I've got no delusions of grandeur for Illinois, here. ND, though, is always going to be risk to swoop in regardless of whether Cincinnati can get the facilities into place. If DickRod left his own alma mater that has great facilities, attendance, fan base, and the one program in the BE that had consistent legitimate shots at the national title, then it's hard to expect anyone to turn ND down outside of the handful of blue blood programs (i.e. Michigan, Ohio State, Florida, USC, etc.).

Nebraska never even offered Brian Kelly. Their first choice was Bo Pelini all along. Pelini has a history with Nebraska and amny amny big time boosters were calling for him before Callahan was even fired. Incompetent Steve Pederson screwed up the coaching search when he hired Callahan but Tom Osborne knew what he was doing and who he wanted. Bo Pelini was options number 1, 2 and 3.
