do we want to discuss these games, or should we just ignore what happened and chalk them up as wins?

No dicussion necessary if you don't want to but the "W's" count just like they would for Big East Teams.

James Madison is not a bad team. They are proably capable of beating or seriously challenging over half of D1-A. After Maryland got slammed by Cal last week I am not suprised they almost lost to JMU.

Jacksonville St on the other hand.....

RE: Great ACC Week
the way i see it, three types of games count for a BCS conference:

wins over BCS conference opponents
losses to BCS conference opponents
losses to non-BCS conference opponents
wins over non-BCS conference opponents, if ranked in top 25

All other games should be gimme wins, so don't count.

By that standard, the ACC was 2-1 this weekend. Nothing special.

RE: Great ACC Week
The OP got a funny way of defining "great".

I guess its great when one of your marque teams (FSU) that is supposedly back after that struggle with Miami just barely hung on to beat a 1AA team at home.

Maryland escaped with a win over another 1AA.

Sorry but ACC has not impressed at all so far outside a few teams.

I'm more concerned about how two of our conference teams blew winnable games in the final minutes vs. Minn and NC than the ACC.

WHO CARES? This is a BIG EAST board. Get over the #@$#%$ fixation people!

They had control of the game most of the game. They were getting good return yards, controlling the line, avoiding penalties and turnovers, making stops when needed. JMU just kept it in and took advantage of some lucky big plays (70 yard QB scramble, 60 yard interception return) to take the lead late. There wasn't much doubt that Maryland would retake the lead, but whether if they had the time and if another big play was on the way.

Well one thing that is a fact this year the ACC has struggled to beat 1AA teams more than any other 1A conference

I'll take going .500 against them if it means we don't see any WV fans in Byrd any time soon. Rutgers and Pitt are the only BE schools I want a series with. WV exposure offers us nothing.

It offers y'all nothing, except more @ss whippings - starting next season... 05-mafia

I noticed you switched your allegience from UNC to Maryland. I take it you didn't sign a letter of intent yet...

Dont worry I think MOST Big East schools feel the same about playing Maryland, if we want an easy win we just schedule 1AAs, no return trips and just as good on the field. 03-nutkick

You might be confusing me with esayem, a UNC fan and the only other ACC poster here.

The other possibility is that he confused you with XLance. You should both add avatars to your profiles so people can tell you apart much better. I suggest that your avatar be a picture of a red boat, Rferry, since that leads to an easy association with your name or else just a Terrapins logo. XLance should make his avatar a picture of something extra large like a big mac or a fat woman's underwear.
