No, I was laughing that you were doing the same thing many UConn fans criticized Louisville fans for doing. Complaining about losing due to officials. UConn didn't lose because of the officals. They lost because they simply didn't play well enough to win. The game should never have been as close as it was because UConn blew their lead. Just like Louisville didn't play well enough to beat UConn. The Cards simply couldn't convert when they needed to and the defense didn't get the stops they had to get. Blaming either game on a missed call or two is simply childish and ridiculous.

Pitt is right outside the Top 25 so hopefully this was enough to push them in, especially if there are some upsets (Grrr, UConn)!

Tough loss today Huskies but your Defense looked great sans 4th Quarter.Felt kinda like the Gopher/Orange game last week where the Orange D just couldn't get that final stop. Safety call was legit but they blew that critical pass int call. Win would have been good for the conference but you have time to make amends against Baylor. Hopefully Frazer is back because your backup didn't look so hot.

UCONN is mirror image of UNC in many ways. If UNC is #19 ranked team in the country, UCONN should be ranked too.

Their D is legit though. They got good front 7.

My sentiment exactly. They had the game won. All they needed to do was do what they'd done all game long. Stop UNC. But when the chips were on the line, they couldn't get the job done...

However, when you take into account that UNC was among the favorites to win the ACC, and UConn was picked 6th in The BEast, this isn't a bad game for us. Games like this are good learning experiences, if you're team has the intestinal fortitude to withstand the lesson...

This is what's funny. After watching other BE teams play, you got to be joking me if you think UCONN is the 6th BE team. Other BE teams gonna be in for a rude awakening if they think UCONN is 6th ranked.

This UCONN team is every bit as talented as the UNC team we played. UCONN did not even play with its best defense player in Scott Lutrus. Also, UCONN lost 8 players to the NFL from last year's team with 6 on the starting day NFL rosters. I have no idea what idiot rated UCONN recruiting classes 70th or 80th and UNC recruiting classes top 20.

If that passing game start to sync, UCONN will beat a lot of people with that D.

All I'm going to say about UConn's preseason prognosticated position is, if they do end up being the 6th place team in The BEast, what does that tell us about the ACC when an ACC favorite has to work their @ss of to come from behind late in the game for the win against The BEast's 6th place team?

RE: UCONN vs. UNC Game Thread
ACC favorites? Well according to the pre-season polls they were the 4th ranked ACC team behind VTech, GTech, and FSU...I'd say VTech was a run away favorite too. Close game but this is one UConn really should have won especially since they were at home and were up by 10 going into the fourth quarter, you have to get it done in that situation. UConn is in for an average year, the 5th best team in the BE IMO...maybe 6th because I feel Rutgers will put it together like they did last season with Savage at the helm now. Their passing game is abysmal and the run simply just isn't good enough to carry them, played some great defense though forcing some key TO's and completely stopping the run...in the end though the offense has to put up more then 10 points for you to win against quality teams.

RE: UCONN vs. UNC Game Thread
Every time we've played UNC with ACC refs, the game is marred by strange penalties against us that seem to magically appear out of nowhere and lots of blatant no-calls when they're holding, interfering with passes, pulling face masks, etc. I've always said that it's not the 11 UNC players you see on the field that you've got to worry about, it's the twelfth player disguised as a referee. Of course, C-USA refs aren't much better. 03-banghead

I didn't say they were THE favorite. I said they were 'among the favorites.' You should take into account the semantics of a statement before going off. Make certain you know what was actually said so you will understand what was meant before complaining...

This is the same UNC that returned most of the starters that took WVU to the wire in the last year's Tire Bowl. Their front 7 is very good on the defensive side, probably the best UCONN will see all year.

RU put it together? UCONN 6th? We should see. I gonna say it right now you are way off on your assessment. Unless you know some kind of magic formula that will shave 1 sec off all of RU defensive player's 40 speed.

Are you one of those dudes that ran your mouth before last year's UCONN vs. Cincy game? One of the dudes here predicted blowouts befoer the game? What happened? 40-16 sound familiar?

CIncy has looked very good so far against couple of Jr. High school defenses. You guys better not disappoint when you face a real defense. It might be shocking cause those passes won't look as smooth and Pike won't have 2 hours back in the pocket to throw the ball.

BTW, I won't be too surprised if UNC finishes near the top of the ACC. Davis is a very good coach. They just lost their best TE towards end of the UCONN game, so that might cause some problems for them down the road.

RE: UCONN vs. UNC Game Thread
Someone is getting a bit defensive 03-lmfao

I think Rutgers has a good chance of salvaging this season, Savage looks very good...like last year I for one am glad Cincy got them out of the way early.

Rutgers was the 19th ranked scoring defense last year, they returned 6 starters and the rest of the starters all have experience. Do I think that they are a great defense...no, but they certainly are not junior high.

I don't know why your bringing up the UConn-UC game last year, especially when this thread has nothing to to with Cincinnati but I'll just say this...playing against healthy Tony Pike is much tougher than playing against a Pike still hurt from a broken arm and Chazz Anderson. 07-coffee3
