I agree. There's no use denying that as of now, Champs is third-tier, and it will be in 2010. Yet, there was a time when the Fiesta bowl was a bottom-tier bowl too, but that changed.
Hopefully, the Big East and the Champs bowl can, over time, build it in to something bigger, too.

Very happy to be playing in the champs, if they can maintain their attitude.
My other favorite BE bowl is the Meineke...

I think Champs will be great for the BE. It is a great destination and it will be great for the BE fans. I think many UCONN fans will be very happy if UCONN landed in the Champ Bowl.
For the fans who think less of this bowl or can't stand the BE, just go cheer for the SEC or something. At least you will get your team pimped on CBS and ESPN every SAT whether you deserve it or not.

exactly if i gave a flying flip about perception i'd be at the local walmart buying gator crap with the rest of the sheep, bottom line the champs is paying out like a 2nd tier bowl and in a great locale/tv slot that's all that matters to me. after we secure a halfway decent number 3 bowl we should be solid, but i'm sure certain people will probably find something to whine about.

Meineke has been very good to the Big East. It treats us with respect, and it has a very good location from a travel/logistical perspective, if not from a tourist perspective.

I'm sure the folks in Charlotte appreciate us too, and they've got a nice stadium down there. The best part about the Meineke bowl is that it's easy to get to. It's not a bad trip from just about anywhere in the conference. It's a major air travel hub, and road travel is easy too...
