WVU Tickets
Upon talking to some of my WVU Army grad friends it seems a WVU alumni association employee has become a UCATS member and purchased 600 tickets from our ticket office to resell to their alumni base. This poses some major challenges for us as I think many UC fans are used to getting tickets late and not realizing how quickly some of these games are selling out. bTW, there is nothing we can currently do to stop this from happening.

Thus, if you are planning on getting tickets for this event do so immediately as there might not be much left Monday when tickets go on sale to the general public.

RE: WVU Tickets
That sucks, I just hope those tickets are not behind me on the Eastside of the Stadium. You know that WVU will buy their entire visitor assigned seats also.

RE: WVU Tickets
I think the 2 seats next to me in the Lair are WVU fans. 2 years ago a WVU fan was in them and only 1 other game has someone been in them and they bought them off ebay (I'll admit it is nice having some extra elbow room). I really want those seats now, but I can't get them since whomever has them won't give them up. So for $50 a WVU fan signed up as a UCat and bought 600 tickets. I would think we would have a limit on the number one person could buy. That sucks.

RE: WVU Tickets
One UCATS member can buy 600 tickets to a single game?

And I would think reselling them would be a no-no.

This 100% true. Just confirmed it with UC. WVU didn't want to wait so they joined UCATS and purchased a bunch of tickets.

UC is just as much at fault. Nobody noticed 1 person purchased 600 tickets?

UC should get some of the blame. Nobody noticed that 1 person bought 600 tickets?

UC Alumni, not the University could get some blame.

Guessing next year they might want to put a 4 ticket cap per game per UCAT membership above and beyond the season tix.

This sucks. Those a-holes are going to be sitting right in our sections starting fights again. 2007 was a complete nightmare.

Not some of the blame - all the blame. If we don't buy our own tickets, then we shouldn't complain that others will. We'll be doing the same in Oxford early in October.

RE: WVU Tickets
Exactly. Besides, the rules were posted before the season started to make it as easy as possible for UCAT and alumni to buy tickets. We need those sales, it's not like we can turn people away at this point. It's more of our own base not stepping up than the ticket office doing something wrong. They knew it was happening, but legally what should they do?

RE: WVU Tickets
Just some clarification...They bought 600 season tickets?

Are single game tickets already on sale for home games?

Single game tixs are on sale for Season Ticket holders only. After the 24th anybody can buy tickets.

So this guy bought season tickets to but 600 tickets?

Sounds like a wives tale to me.

RE: WVU Tickets
This story is getting convoluted. The original post said the person became a UCATS member and bought 600 tickets.

Last week UC announced that UCATS members could buy single game tickets beginning August 17 (see story below).

So - the 600 tickets were most likely for the UC-WVU game.

2009 Football Individual Game Tickets On-Sale to UCATS Members August 17

UCATS Members Enjoy Unique Pre-Sale Opportunity Before Tickets Are Available to the General Public.

Aug. 11, 2009

Individual game tickets for the 2009 Bearcats football season go on sale exclusively to UCATS members on Monday, August 17. The 2009 home schedule, among the best in school history, features six exciting home games. If you are interested in tickets for multiple games, season ticket packages are still available and provide the best value for Bearcats football!

Discounted group rates are available for groups of 15+, please contact a Ticket Sales Manager for additional information.

Tickets must be purchased by calling the Athletic Ticket Office at (513) 556-2287 or 1-877-CATS-TIX.

50 bucks minimum.

Dropping $35,000 on a ticket order is big.

I spoke to a rep in the ticket office, she confirmed the story.

Depends on where the seat(s) are located for the season tixs package.
Some donations are as small as $100.

There was no season ticket package purchased for this. They paid $50 for a UCATS membership, then bought 600 tickets for the WVU game.
