Yes, the quote obviously implies that we got a better deal because of Notre Dame. ND made us "more attractive", and when you are more attractive, you get a better deal.

Some of the conspiracy theorists need to get a grip on reality. Hogan was trying to compliment the Big East and it came out of his mouth wrong. Every sensible person and their grandmother knows that the Champs wanted Notre Dame. Furthermore, comments made by Marinatto more than a month ago made it clear to the ENTIRE WORLD what he wanted for our #2, three years of the Big East and one year of Notre Dame. That is what the Champs gave him.

I can't believe that Rferry is one of the most sensible people on one of these threads for a change. There is no way the Champs was ever going to sign up Big East #2 without one year of Notre Dame knowing that is what Marinatto was looking for based on his own comments to the media just a few weeks earlier. And for all we know, maybe adding Notre Dame added more money to the deal, or something else that we have not heard about. Just chill already.

After the USF & Pitt showings the past two years, how can anyone seriously blame the Sun Bowl for wanting to make a change? I'm not saying the ACC will be a good move for them but to act like they're missing out on something by not having the Big East in their bowl is just homerism. It's a bad destination for any conference based in the East.
